Four Time Saving Tips For Day to Day Life
If your life is anything like mine, then you know how frustrating it can be to always be on the go. I work a full time and two part time jobs, try to hit the gym daily, and attempt to maintain (but do so poorly) a social life. Work, family and friends, classes, exercise; there just isn't enough time in the day to do it all.
Or is there? As an avid always on the move maniac, I have discovered countless shortcuts to save time throughout your daily routines. Read on for four time savers you can easy incorporate into your everyday life. Enjoy and remember; it's okay to slow down and take a deep breath now and then!
1. BRUSH YOUR TEETH IN THE SHOWER
Seriously, to me this seems like a no-brainer but I get some very surprised looks when I tell people about my daily brushing habits. But think about it; you're already in the shower, why not brush your teeth while your conditioner soaks into your hair and get it all done at once? You can keep your toothbrush and paste right in the shower too, just pick up a cheap shower caddy that hangs from the neck of your shower head. It'll all be within an arms reach and cut back on your out-of-shower morning routine time. Watch out for dried on upper cleavage drizzle, though. It's a hard look to pull off.
2. DRY YOUR HAIR IN THE CAR
No, I don't mean attempt to blow dry your lush locks while driving. I'm talkin' 'bout crankin' those air vents (heat on high during the winter, a cooler temperature in the summer) and turning on only the upper vents. This usually works for me pretty well, and the flow of air helps dry my hair as I drive. By the time I get to work my hair is usually dry (enough) and just needs a quick brushing and maybe a little styling before I head in. I understand this won't work for everybody, but for those laid back girls like me who have more to care about than the exact positioning of each strand of hair, it works pretty darn well.
3. MEAL PREP, MEAL PREP, MEAL PREP
I cannot stress this one enough, guys. If done right not only will you save time and money, but you'll probably shed a few healthy pounds too and who doesn't want that? What I usually do is prep my breakfasts and lunches for the week all at once and put them in Tupperware containers so I can grab and go. I'm still pretty new to this but it seems to be working well for me. I try to stick with mostly fruits and veggies and a meat as a protein, and a few healthy snack options like Greek yogurt or popped chips. Makes getting out of the door in the morning a lot more manageable!
4. MAKE A CLOTHING INVENTORY
Next time you do laundry, try to get as much of your wardrobe clean as possible and then take stock of what you have. How many outfits can you make before you need to do laundry again? This number could vary depending on how many times you're willing to wear jeans between washing and if you consider a shirt dirty after wearing it for three hours. I don't, and I won't mind wearing it again in a few days. I will also wear jeans two or so times before washing them. How many clean pairs of underwear/socks do you have? If you have 12 pairs of underwear and 14 pairs of socks, it's safe to assume you can make it a solid 12 days before having to do laundry again (assuming you have enough outfits to cover up those socks and underwear). Mark it on your calendar and then put it put of mind. One less thing to worry about for the next 12 days!
